Dr Jilly Evans
Jilly Evans is a biochemist who is a director
at Merck Research Laboratories in Pennsylvania. She helped develop the
successful anti-asthmatic drug, Singulair and the novel arthritis and pain
medication, Vioxx. She is a passionate supporter of women's careers in

Dr Sheila Ochugboju
Sheila Ochugboju is project development manager
with London-based company Focus Consultancy where she manages public health
projects in such areas as ethnic health policy, sickle cell, diabetes control
and HIV/AIDS prevention. Previously, on a fellowship at Oxford University,
she looked at ways of developing alternatives to chemical pesticides.

Margaret Wertheim is an internationally noted
science writer and commentator who has written extensively about science
and society for magazines, television and radio. She is the author of

from Dante to the Internet . Originally from Australia, Margaret now
lives in Los Angeles.

Dr Jean Fleming
Jean Fleming is a senior lecturer at Otago Medical
School's Department of Anatomy and Structural Biology. She was one of four
people (and the only scientist) appointed to the Royal Commission on Genetic
Modification, whose year-long inquiry was regarded as the most extensive
yet to be held anywhere in the world.
