Career Profiles
AWIS has developed profiles of women in a variety of scientific
careers for use in schools. It is hoped that these profiles will provide
inspriation to young women and assist them in making choices about their
careers.

Nikki Harcourt
is attempting to find scientific answers to explain the therapeutic properties
of the delicious sandwich spread—honey !

Carolyn Lundquist
has what many people would say is a dream job – as a marine ecologist.
Based at NIWA in Hamilton, she enjoys the odd mix of fieldwork, boating,
SCUBA diving and environmental research that comes with the job.

Robyn Phipps
is a Lecturer in Building Technology. The job entails teaching property
students “how a building functions” and doing research in the design of healthy
building systems.
