How you got here: I've always been a "hands on" and inquisitive type of person so was drawn to science at an early age. The interface between biology and chemistry really interested me so my University studies focused on these disciplines and all my projects and work placements were in applied research (HortResearch, The Tetley Group, NZ Biotechnologies Ltd, AgResearch). At the end of my PhD I took up the opportunity to do something different and become a Research Advisor. In this role, I work with researchers to help them find research funding, manage their research contracts and identify new opportunities for collaboration. I've been in this role since 2009 and really enjoy the new challenges that each day brings.
