AWIS list changes

The system for managing the AWIS-list has changed, in particular, the list address has changed - instead of writing to awis-list@stonebow.otago.ac.nz, please send future posts to awis-list@lists.otago.ac.nz The old address will continue to function, and will forward emails to the new address for some time to come.

The new interface allows you to subscribe and unsubscribe over the web, at this address:

http://lists.otago.ac.nz/listinfo/awis-list

It asks you for a password, which we have never had before. The system has in fact generated a password for you, and you can tell the web interface to email it to you if you enter your email address. This lets you do clever things like look at the archive, change the email address you are subscribed from (changing email addresses is a common cause of problems for people), and change various settings.

You don't need to tackle this interface unless you need to tinker with your subscription - just remember to send posts to the new list
address.

If you have any problems with the list, email Judy Broom ( judy.broom@otago.ac.nz ). You can also get a list of commands for the new system by sending an email to awis-list-request@lists.otago.ac.nz with the text 'help' in the subject or body.

Canterbury Branch Meetings

This year AWIS meetings will run monthly on a Thursday alternating with a Wednesday.

The Next AWIS Conference, Christchurch 2008

The next AWIS conference will be in Christchurch in 2008.  If you wish to be involved in organising the conference, please contact Fiona Carswell.   The wider the range of organisers, the more exciting the conference will be!  Please  think of the conference as an opportunity to extend your skills, enliven your cv and have a good time with fellow organisers along the way.

Conference organisation will be broken down into small tasks that people can manage independently and it is anticipated that we will meet for a meal together every once in a while to catch up rather than having lengthy committee meetings.
