International Women's Day
International Women's Day is the 8th March, and AWIS branches across the country will be celebrating.
Monday 9th March, Stardome Observatory
Join us for a continental breakfast before hearing about the science and careers of:
- Jilly Evans, graduate of the University of Auckland, now CSO and co-founder of US company PharmAkea Therapeutics
- Cather Simpson, graduate of the University of Virginia, now Director of the Photon Factory at the University of Auckland
- Jill Vintiner, graduate of the University of London, now Forensic Programme Manager at ESR.
Breakfast will be served from 8am, talks will begin at 8.30am. Tickets available from Eventbrite.

An evening with Jilly Evans for an early celebration of International Women’s Day.
Jilly Evans, graduate of the University of Auckland, now CSO and co-founder of US company PharmAkea Therapeutics (http://www.pharmakea.com/) is back in NZ for a few weeks and wanted to join us for a networking event to talk careers in science. Jilly came and spoke to us a few years ago and it was a really informative, fun evening.
We will be meeting at Sugar Horse (http://www.sugarhorse.co.nz/ ) on Moorhouse Ave from 6pm Tuesday 3rd March – please join us if you can!
