Report: International Science Festival 2018

AWIS sponsored a 2-minute talk session at the New Zealand International Science Festival in Dunedin. Now a signature event of the Festival, 2 Minute Talks: Young Women in Science is a community celebration of talented young females scientists working or studying in Dunedin.
A sold out event, it hosted 20 speakers communicating their passion about their research, from autism to superfoods, the effects of tobacco to finding possible invasive wasp genomes! Keynote speakers included Sian Cleaver, a space systems engineer and keynote festival speaker from the UK, talking about her career paths that have taken her to work in the space industry.
The night was interesting and inspiring, and was a great opportunity to network with other researchers in the science fields.
