AWIS AGM 2022
The AWIS AGM will be held on from 3-4pm Saturday the 30th July at the Ellen Melville Centre (Freyberg Square) Marilyn Waring Room in Auckland.

At the AGM the following motion will be voted on (members who will not be able to attend the AGM can submit their vote or nominate a proxy by emailing email@example.com)
Motion: To amend AWIS Rules (current rules are available here) to make the specified changes (bold text) to allow for the creation of a lifetime subscription fee option and to adjust our definition of women the member section to be more inclusive of anyone who self identifies as a woman.
4. Classes of Memberships

5.2 Any existing Full, Student/Unwaged or Associate member is eligible on or after their retirement to pay a one-off lifetime subscription fee. This fee shall be determined annually by the Annual General Meeting.
The following roles will also be elected at the AGM
National Convenor – main AWIS contact, responsible for leading discussion on AWIS activities and assisting regional convenors
Secretary – secondary AWIS contact, responsible for managing incoming mail and drafting minutes of meetings and discussions
Treasurer – responsible for managing AWIS financial activities and records
Membership Secretary – responsible for managing AWIS’ electronic membership database
Membership publicity – work with the exec to build the membership and add value for existing members
Editor – manage content for AWIS website/social and monthly e-newsletter
Regional Convenor – responsible for organising AWIS activities in specified region:
- Palmerston North
If you can't attend the AGM simply but are interested in an exec role fill in the nomination form and get it back to firstname.lastname@example.org by 25th July. You can nominate yourself for more than one position, and members attending the AGM will be asked to vote if more than one nomination is received for a position.
