What we do

AWIS has identified three key areas where we believe we can provide support and advocacy to better the position of anyone who identifies as a woman in the sciences in New Zealand:

• Addressing bias, both conscious and unconscious
• Developing careers
• Ensuring work-life balance.

We will do this through a range of activities, including:

• Submissions to government on relevant policies
• Sharing data and research related to women in the sciences
• Hosting networking and learning events
• Offering awards and scholarships for women in the sciences.
