First AWIS travel scholarship awarded
AWIS is delighted to have awarded the first of its new travel scholarships to Kesia Kurian, an ex-John Paul College student now studying for a conjoint Bachelors of Engineering and Science at the University of Auckland, and Shulan Qui, a Year 13 student from John Paul College.
Kesia and Shulan will use the funding to attend the finals of the Conrad Spirit of Innovation Challenge, an international science-based entrepreneurial competition being held in Orlando, Florida. Their business plan submission is based on their science fair project, developing a new biofertiliser with help from Scion Research.
